So how does it stay sustainable?
SastyBed is built and funded by GOFTECH, a Pakistani software company. The product is a long-term commitment, not a venture-funded experiment. We're patient capital — we want hostels and students to thrive on the platform, and we'll figure out adjacent revenue (premium add-ons, ad-free student app, etc.) without ever putting the core platform behind a paywall.
Why this matters for owners
Most "hostel management software" charges 5–10% of every online booking. On an Rs. 8,000/month rent collected for 24 students, that's Rs. 19,200/month walking out the door — or about Rs. 2.3 lakh a year. SastyBed lets you keep that money.

Your data is yours. Export everything — students, bookings, payments, transfers — as PDF or CSV from the Reports page at any time. If you ever stop using SastyBed, we keep your data accessible for 90 days, then delete it permanently.
The promise
SastyBed is free for hostel owners today and will stay free for hostel owners. If we ever need to monetise, it'll be through optional premium services or the student side of the marketplace — never by charging you for the core platform.
